PuTTYPuTTY is a free SSH client for Windows. Using this program you can connect to all the linux machines in the E-Bar, including the dedicated linux servers, as well as servers in the other databars. DownloadPutty can be downloaded from here: No installation is required. To start PuTTY, simply run the downloaded file. Using PuTTYYou must first decide on which machine to connect to. If you are connecring to the E-Bar, you should use one of the linux servers. If you are connecting to the G-Bar, you should use one of their servers, for example Now, run PuTTY by executing the file you just downloaded (putty.exe). You will be presented with the following screen: ![]() In the “Host Name” field, enter the name og the machine you want to connect to. Leave everything else as is, and press the “Open” button. You will be presented with a prompt asking for your username and password (i.e. your DTU credentials if you are connecting to a databar computer). If everything goes right, this completes the connection precedure, and you will be presented with a terminal on the machine you are connected to. See also | |
