Parts of the Ebar website is not up-to-date at the moment but we are working on it.

The Ebar workstations can now be found in 341 and the ground floor of 325. They have doalboot configuration so you can run Debian GNU/Linux or the winbar Windows installation.

Ebar is closed for this semester. We are awaiting new machines in building 341 and relocating the machines in 349 to 325.

The old Linux servers ebar091 and ebar092 will be shudown at the end of this semester. You can continue to use poulsen.ebar.dtu.dk or gramme.ebar.dtu.dk for this purpose.

A new setup have been installed in building 349 which has a similar windows setup from all other databars around DTU. They will of course be running a dual boot configuration, so you can run Debian GNU/Linux.

The setup of our two new linux servers, named gramme and poulsen, is finished and they can now be use according to RemoteLinuxLogin. For more details about the hardware, take a look at LinuxServers

We have moved all of our windows machines to the win.dtu.dk domain, which should speedup the login process.

During the last month a lot of our machines have been out of order because of faulty graphiccards. We are currently waiting for some new and will be changing them as soon as possible

Windows users may had problems logining on to the databar. The problem was caused by a faulty power supply on one of our Domain servers, which is replaced.

Sorry for the inconvenience

The projectors in the databar rooms 003, 015 and 019 are now properly connected to one of the computers through the cable running on the floor. The activation is done by pushing the “PC1″ button on the keypad on the wall. Pushing “OFF” turns the projector off, no stick needed. Computer screen and projector share the same image.

Remote SSH access to the E-Bar has been temporarily blocked. More information on this matter will come later. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Update (15 Frebruary 2008): SSH access to the E-Bar is again possible.

All servers and network switches will be shutdown down Thuesday 29 January at 17:00 to Wednesday 30 January at 08:30 in building 341. The E-databar will not work in building 349 either.

All computers of room 025 in building 349 are now equipped with new 19 inches monitors.

All computers in rooms 028 and 032 in building 349 are now equipped with new 19 inches monitors with integrated speakers.

The printer EPS2−341 has been replaced with a new one. Its address and name on the network has not changed.

All of the computers are now able to burn CD/DVD

We have installed new software in both windows and Debian Linux. The Software list is not yet updated with the correct versionnumbers for Linux.

The printer eps1–341 are having some problems when printing. eps3–341′s duplex function is out of order. We are waiting for some maintenance kit to solve the problem.

We have installed 7 new machines in room 341/015, enjoy using them.

Linux will be updated in room 025 in building 349 between 13:00–17:00 today. Please use room 034, 032 or 028 instead.

Linux will be updated in room 003 in building 341 between 8:00–13:00 on Friday. Please use room 015 instead.

Room 015 and 019 in building 341 will be closed between 13:00–17:00 on Thursday, because of Linux installation. Please use room 003 instead.

The linux servers are up and running again. They had accidentally been running Windows for a while :(
